For reasons unknown, there's a sector of our youth that entertains itself by vandalizing other people's property. The city of Los Osos, for example, has experienced a surge in vandalism ever since the school year let out.
It seems that three young people on skateboards have been roaming the city at night, especially in the areas of Nipomo and 6th Street, with the intent of causing harm to private property. They were caught on a video surveillance camera as they smashed in a homeowner's street light and fled the scene.
They're suspected in at least a dozen related incidents of destroying mailboxes and throwing rocks through cars and home windows. Local police and residents are not the least bit amused.
