It’s about as low as you can get, even for a burglar. It happened a couple years ago in Union County, Tennessee. An area resident was away from home helping with the plans for his grandmother’s funeral, and when he returned home he discovered intruders had broken in and taken many of his valuable items -- and his puppy.
Naturally, the victime was distraught over his missing puppy, having already been dealing with the passing of his grandmother.
The police reported that more than 40 homes in the area had been hit in a five-week period. When this much criminal activity happens in an targeted area, law enforcement agencies advise residents to take precautions to prevent break ins. And one of the best proactive steps is to install a home security system with a motion sensor. These are pet-friendly and can be calibrated to allow the movement of family pets around the home.
