Once you’ve installed a fire alarm system, you may think that you don’t have anything more to do to protect your home and family from a fire. A fire alarm system, however, is only one piece of a plan that you should put into place to ensure complete protection of home, property, and your family.
Your entire family should know exactly what to do in the event of a fire. Children should know multiple escape routes to get out of your home. If they can safely reach one of your exterior doors, they should go that way, but in the case that they cannot safely leave their room, they should know how to get out of their window to safety.
Once out of the home, everyone in the family should know exactly where to meet so there's no confusion about who may still be in the home. A near-by neighbor’s home is always a good choice.
