There's more to securing your home from unwanted intrusion than installing a burglar alarm and forgetting all about it. You need to have a mindset that says you're being proactive in every way possible to protect your home and family from disaster. You can start by making sure the doors in your home don’t invite a burglar.
Hollow doors are manufactured from sheets of veneer covering a cardboard core, and these are very easily kicked down. Install solid doors made of fiberglass or wood, with double locks or deadbolts. Metal doors can be hollow as long as they're reinforced so the frame can’t be bent with a crowbar or car jack.
You can have the most expensive locks on the planet but if you don’t lock them they're pretty much useless. A major percentage of burglaries occur because the householders failed to lock their doors and windows, even while they were occupying the home.
