ADT provides three basic forms of security for your safety. Home security coverage includes response to fire, burglary, and emergency events. The central piece of equipment in your system is a master control keypad that you use to control your entire system, including:

You can additionally have wireless keypads included in your security package to give you the option of controlling the system when you're away from the master keypad. You can control it using a remote telephone and use it as a speaker phone.

Each component in your security system functions with microcomputer technology to supervise the protected zones , the system status, triggering of alarms and information display on the keypad. It’s your choice to have it set up to automatically send the status and alarm messages via phone lines to the ADT central monitoring station. You may also choose equipment that's enabled for two-way voice communication with the security professionals at the monitoring station.

Secondary Codes for Additional Security
Using the Master User Code, you can add more security to you system by creating secondary user codes for specific individuals that require access to your home from time to time. You identify the assignment of the codes by “user numbers” when you establish the codes.
These codes are ideal for people such as babysitters, housekeepers, and other service personnel. Only the Master User Code can be used to assign secondary codes. The secondary codes can be used interchangeably; meaning when the system has been armed with one user’s code, another user’s code can be used to disarm it.
You also have a duress code feature that's used only when under threat. When programmed, it will silently notify the monitoring center of your emergency.
